Why HOQ

First and Foremost, all 2500+ questions/answers were personally written by me and they are constantly updated and very high-yield for both the Hematology and Oncology Board examinations.

Between my Private practice clinic where I see every type of Hematologic/Oncologic condition coupled with my Staffing the Fellows Clinic at Johns Hopkins and giving Board Review lectures at Johns Hopkins and the MD Anderson Board Review course, I am able to keep up-to-date with the material.

I feel this is the greatest strength of our website.

We are humbled that since we launched the website in 2014, over 11,000+ Hematologists/Oncologists have signed up for our site including many international doctors.

EFFICIENT AND HIGH YIELD :

I tried to create high-yield questions with succinct explanations. The latter should be helpful for rapid-fire review prior to a board examination. I kept the explanations brief to get the main teaching point across. I truly focus on writing the high-yield questions possible. I always thought practice questions were a good way to increase one's knowledge base. We now have an App available for Android and the iPhone; it is part of the subscription.

HISTORY :

Since I created this site in 2014, over 11,000 Hematologists/Oncologists have registered. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and I am truly humbled and honored that so many have used the website to help in preparation for their Hematology/Oncology Board examination.

GOOD BOARD PREPARATION :

These questions should be helpful in preparing for the Medical Oncology and Hematology Board examinations. In addition, these questions will serve as a refresher for those who are recertifying for their boards or for the ASCO inservice exam. Lastly, the site is outstanding for Hematologists/Oncologists who are interested in increasing their knowledge base. The questions cover all of Benign Hematology, Malignant Hematology, and Solid tumors.  We now have an exam format available where a user can take a 60 questions practice test composed of a mix of questions from various Oncology and Hematology topics.  We also have a 30 questions Image Bank available.

CONSTANTLY UPDATED :

Based on clinical situations I encounter in my clinic, I will update the questions to keep them up-to-date and relevant. As the field of Hematology and Oncology constantly evolves, so will the questions. I have always been the type who is humbled by how much I do not know, so if any issues/mistakes are found with any of the questions, I will absolutely edit/fix them. The field of Hematology/Oncology changes at such a rapid pace and it can be daunting. However, I like challenges and truly go over all the questions every few months to update any outdated questions/answers.  I use the NCCN guidelines and UpToDate to cross-reference all of the questions.

VALUE :

As most of the users of this site will be trainees, I want to keep the price low. This has been more a labor of love than anything else, and the cost is only 49.99 for a 6-month subscription. You will have the option to renew the subscription for 24.99 for an additional 6 months. We also have subscription options for 1, 2 or 3 years of access; all have been priced quite inexpensively.  As an example, for 2 years of access, it will cost only 90 dollars.  The low cost is largely to help defray the cost of creating this website and maintaining it. With a subscription, you will have access to over 2500+ Medical Oncology, Malignant Hematology, and Benign Hematology questions. Each question has a detailed answer/explanation and all have supporting references. I wrote questions on every tumor type.  Of note, if a fellowship program is interested in purchasing the Question Bank for their fellows, we will provide an additional discount. See the Membership Option Icon on the front page.

ADJUNCT RESOURCE :

I hope these questions will serve as an adjunct to other outstanding resources including ASH-SAP, ASCO-SEP, ASCO Question Bank, the MD Anderson, and George Washington Board Review Course and the NCCN guidelines. I think that going through questions is a fun way to learn more about Oncology and Hematology.
